Performance measurement is central to the design of effective product stewardship programs – and for that reason, performance metrics are often a contentious issue. Decisions about measuring performance reflect stakeholders’ expectations as to how ambitious a program will be, how responsibility is assigned, and the repercussions of not reaching desired goals. This session, designed as a dialogue among session leaders and participants, will offer a variety of perspectives on the role of performance metrics in product stewardship and how performance can best be measured. Session leaders will tackle the questions of how to build consensus on the best approaches, access appropriate data, and use performance data to drive results.
