The purpose of this project is to save local governments in Illinois money on waste management while enhancing environmental protection, reducing product lifecycle impacts, and improving end of life management. This project is also focused on maximizing the use of existing programs, particuarly in rural areas. This project is made possible by the Illinois Counties Solid Waste Management Association and Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant. This project is also supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
