Tell a Friend About This EventTell a Friend

According to recent estimates, approximately 150 million scrap tires sit in stockpiles across the country, representing a significant source of environmental pollution and ecological disruption. The good news is that there are a growing number of markets for scrap tires, which promise to create thousands of new jobs, spur economic growth, and reduce pollution. This webinar features some of North America’s foremost experts on rubber tire production and recycling who will explore this topic.

Breaking the Fee-ver: Maintaining EPR for Packaging in the Face of Rising Costs

EPR packaging fees worldwide are being re-evaluated and adjusted upward to reflect the difficulty in managing certain materials. That approach, combined with a further penalty in the form of disruptor fees for materials that contaminate the recycling stream, are resulting in higher recycling rates, which—in turn—are having a direct impact on the cost of goods. In this EPI-sponsored webinar, Victor Bell will discuss trends in the increasing number of EPR material categories. He will also present an overview of the newly published ISO technical report on substances and materials, which may impede efforts to use EPR to encourage better packaging materials through disruptor fees.
