AWARxE

AWARxE lists police departments and sheriff’s offices that have permanent medication disposal drop-boxes. AWARxE is a consumer protection program brought to you by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) Foundation. ® AWARErx.org is an online resource for information about medicine safety, prescription drug abuse, medication disposal, and safe purchase of medications on the Internet.

Note: Most law enforcement agencies generally accept controlled substances. However, residents are encouraged to contact collection sites beforehand to inquire about what type of medications are not accepted, and to confirm hours of operation.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection

Pennsylvania DEP maintains lists of collection programs that operate throughout the state. Collection sites located within police/law enforcement collection facilities and pharmacies are listed separately under bullet 5, "Pharmaceutical Management,” towards the bottom of the webpage.
