All stakeholders interested in Missouri pharmaceutical stewardship are welcome to join the Missouri Product Stewardship Council (MO PSC), in partnership with the Product Stewardship Institute, for a virtual Pharmaceuticals Stewardship Summit. October 14-15, 2020.
We hope to welcome a diverse group, including the public health community, social services, prevention experts, pharmacists, the public sector, wastewater treatment facilities, environmental organizations, tribal communities, opioid crisis experts & activists, health professionals, & law enforcement agencies.
- October 14 12:00pm-4:30pm CT: Participants will learn about and discuss the importance of safe pharmaceuticals management; as well as problems associated with safety, health, and environmental hazards. In addition, we'll discuss pharmaceutical takeback programs, namely models in other states, Missouri laws, and existing collection infrastructure within the state.
- October 15, 12:00pm-3:30pm CT: the focus will be facilitated discussion on development of a uniform message regarding pharmaceutical disposal. We'll lay the groundwork for pharmaceutical stewardship in Missouri!
Together, participants will develop specific next steps for stakeholders, with a focus on implementing a pharmaceutical stewardship program.
