This position will assist with research, outreach, compliance, and reporting for the state’s E-Waste program. Job duties include:
- ensuring compliance with the E-Waste statute and delivering technical assistance to businesses, associations, citizens, and local government units;
- serving as a core member of the MPCA’s product stewardship team to identify products, conduct research, write reports, and perform outreach to stakeholders;
- coordinating outreach efforts related to e-waste product stewardship including fact sheets, web content, presentations, and conferences;
- managing the E-Waste program database, including the collection, analysis, and application of data related to manufacturers, collectors, and processors.

This position will oversee business and organizational developmental activities for the Program, a multi-government program serving all communities within King County. The Local Hazardous Waste Management Program (LHWMP) in King County is searching for a dynamic leader to provide a wide range of policy-related support for our multi-jurisdictional program. To learn more about LHWMP visit This policy liaison role calls for experience and skill working to enact new laws, ordinances, and policies to achieve LHWMP’s goals of reducing toxics use and  managing hazardous materials. We are looking for someone who cares passionately that all people living in King County should have the chance to reach their full potential in a healthy environment. We want someone who can build coalitions and partnerships with agencies and jurisdictions and work directly with elected officials to make that happen.
This high-level professional position will work closely with one other LHWMP policy staff and the Program Director. The role involves in-depth analysis of policies, research, planning and policy development, the ability to present and recommend policy initiatives, and follow through with action. The role will require the incumbent to be flexible in communication, and skilled in networking and building and maintaining relationships.
